A documentary about the Jewish community in Radom, Poland during World War II. The film begins with a story of two children, born into very different circumstances. One is the son of an affluent family who is sent to live with relatives after his father, who was originally from Radom, is taken away by the Gestapo for resisting Nazi occupation; the other is an eight-year-old girl who lives in fear for her life due to her parents' refusal to comply with German edicts like wearing yellow stars and not using Polish language. The film examines how these two children find themselves connected after surviving what could've easily been their demise through different responses that they make as adults. A recurring theme is how they both manage to remain Jews, despite the fact that their parents and extended family were killed during the Holocaust.
