This document presents the financial impact of the project. The final release (version 2.1) of the scientific information produced by the project will be distributed as e-Document package. For the Bioprocessing side, the results obtained during Phase I will be made available for the 9 laboratories and academic institutes that signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
These results have been achieved by making use of a variety of Internet-based technologies and tools including RSS, XML, Gopher, WWW, FTP, DNS, DHTML, Java and Dynamic HTML. Core services will be available through a single point of access via the G-language Gopher system. Content is managed by XML-based document management software and the web services and web servers provide user access to this content through a secure HTTP interface. The framework of Web services and the associated design of the G-server application framework provide the base for the development of several services that will allow internal and external customers access to data, applications and services. These are: Geographical Information System, Inventory Management, Bioinformatics, Chemical Data Management, Registry System and BioNews. The web application framework will be a set of server-side components that communicate through an underlying web service technology. This will be based on distributed components that will allow for the deployment of web applications using a dynamic programming approach. This framework will allow for the creation of services based on a flexible, easy-to-use and powerful model for development. This framework will provide a client-side technology that allows for the discovery of services and access to those services using an easy to use set of tools. This framework will be used by the G-Group team for the development of web services, web applications and web content. This framework will be used by the G-Group members to achieve interoperability of the services provided by the project
